Last night CH performed at ‘West One Four’ in Kensington. There were a number of other bands playing including our friends, ‘Sequoia’. We had a predictably great time at what we have decided will be our last gig for a couple of months.

Before I move on to explain why, I would like to pass on Case Hardin’s sincerest thank you to all those who have come & supported us, gig after gig, on our busy schedule over the summer. You never disappoint us with your unswerving commitment & you are never, ever taken for granted.

We have decided to stop for a while to give everyone a bit of a break. It is quite a hassle organizing a large number of shows around work schedules, holidays, fickle promoters/ venues etc & as outlined above, we are alive to the impact that it has on our supporters, who, I was surprised to hear recently, actually have their own lives to lead!

We will want you to do it all again early next year, so we hope to reward you with some new material.

Priority one is to ‘bed in’ our new little ginger seedling, Cadge, who had his first gig on keyboards last night & acquitted himself admirably. While things are still at a formative stage I think that his input & Andy’s increasing confidence on vocals could be the next stage that keeps things keeping on in the right direction (i.e. forward).

There are some new songs in the pipe- line. ‘A Day at the Races (a night in the cells)’ & ‘Tilt- A- Whirl’ were both debuted at Bar 38 in Reading last week, so look out for band versions of those & the brand new ‘Turn Around’.

In addition we have tentative plans to record. We are in discussion with Stuart Emeny at ‘NSC’ about engineering the sessions which we hope will be quick/ organic & most of all cheap......I mean fun, (sorry).

As things take shape I will, of course, keep this page posted. All is not over for live performances though. We will probably pop up here & there in the coming months, so keep an eye on the gig page.

Monday is a good day for records. The new Cooper Temple Clause album is out as is a major record company debut for Kentuckian hot property ‘My Morning Jacket’. The CD is called ‘It Still Moves’. I strongly recommend MMJ having been blown away by them at Reading Festival last week....think of The Allman Brothers/ Lynrd Skynrd meets Flaming Lips/ Mercury Rev… in fact don’t think of that it sounds weird!!

 Thanks again, Pete
